Local Hero, directed by Bill Forsyth, starring Burt Lancaster and Peter Riegert.Local Hero is, on the surface, an unusual film about an eccentric Scottish town and the materialistic American oil executive sent to buy it out. The film's quirky, dream-like quality belies its deeper themes, however, and makes for a truly enchanting experience.
